How to stop Microsoft Edge opening all the open tabs from Chrome when you launch the browser.
Issue Description
The scenario is, you are working in Google Chrome with multiple browsers open and decide to launch Microsoft Edge. When Edge launches, it opens with the identical open tabs that you have running over in Chrome.
This can be quite annoying because usually the reason for launching a new browser is to keep the tabs running on the other one while launching a fresh browser to perhaps view something in a logged out perspective.
Instructions
Prevent Edge Launching With Chrome Open Tabs
- Edge Settings
The 3 small dots on the top right-hand corner of the browser opens Edge Settings.
- Profiles / Import Browser Data
Settings should open with Profiles, from here open “Import Browser Data“
- Import browser data on each launch
From within the section, “Import browser data on each launch“, expand the option “Open tabs“.
- Open tabs
Move the slider switch from on to off. Exit the browser and relaunch.
