How to fix an issue on HP Laptop 14-ck0xxx models. These use a graphics adapter with the ID Intel(R) UHD Graphics 605.

Problem Description
The computer has been working fine until Windows takes an update for the graphics driver. When trying to start the computer, the HP logo appears, thereafter we get a black screen without a visible cursor.
How To Fix
These instructions should get your laptop running again.
How to fix HP 14 Laptop Black Screen – No Cursor
- Force Shutdown During Startup
Press the power button and as soon as the HP logo appears on the screen, press and hold the power button until it kills the power and shuts down. Repeat this process a second time.
- Power On Into System Recovery
The computer will enter the System Recovery mode (onscreen text will read “Please wait”. From recovery mode, head in to Repair Options and Advanced Recovery Options.
- Boot Into Safe Mode
From within Advanced Recovery Options, select Startup Settings. Restart and press 4 for Safe Mode when prompted.
- Within Safe Mode Uninstall Graphics Driver
Once in Safe Mode, right-click on the Start Menu and select Device Manager. Locate and expand Display Adapters. Right-click on How to fix an issue on HP Laptop 14-ck0xxx models. These use a graphics adapter with the ID Intel(R) UHD Graphics 605 and select Uninstall. Go ahead and tick the box to delete drivers for this device.
- Reboot & Reinstall Correct Driver
Restart the computer (in normal mode) and open Windows Updates. Locate Additional Updates and select everything. Install & reboot.
