Computroon Tech News: Windows 10 Free Upgrade
Microsoft last week announce more details relating to the license and upgrade terms of the forthcoming Windows 10 operating system.
Users running Windows 7 & Windows 8.1 will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 without incurring any upgrade license cost as long as the upgrade is carried out within 12 months of Windows 10 being released.
Actual details are still very sketchy and Microsoft appear to be playing their cards very close with press releases and announcements.
We will continue to keep an eye on this to be able to advise as best as we can with regards to which versions of 7 & 8 are actually eligible for this free upgrade.
We are still waiting to find out exactly how the upgrade will become available. There has been no confirmation on how the Windows SKUs are going to be available.
What has been confirmed is that any new Windows computer that is purchased between now and release date will be eligible for a free upgrade to the new Windows 10.
