Microsoft have yet to disclose the pricing of it’s new OS (Operating System) Windows 10 following the technical preview release earlier this week.
However there are rumours within the channel that the update / upgrade will be free to users of Windows 7 & 8.
Microsoft seem to be keen to moving as many of it’s users towards it’s cloud based services which provide a continuous revenue stream rather than the previous “one off” license purchase previously offered. This tactical shift evident in 2013 with the big push towards Microsoft Office 365.
Windows 10 release date has yet to be confirmed but estimates are a mid-late 2015 date.
Confirmation of Microsoft’s pricing structure isn’t expected until nearer to release but could prove to be the biggest “shake-up” in the computer channel for years!
