When using OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) for live streaming, broadcasting, presentations or even during recordings, there may be occasions when you want to change some text content on the screen but maintain the display formatting.
This can be achieved without any third-party plugin. We can simply use Notepad to create dynamic text.

Live text in OBS Studio
- Create & Save A Notepad File
Right-click Start Menu / Run / Type notepad OK
Save as… Give it a name and save location.
- Insert Text In OBS Studio
In Sources, click Add (+). Text (GDI+). Create New. OK.

- Add Text File In OBS Text Properties
Tick the box “Read From File”. Browse to the Notepad file that you saved.

- Changing Text Content While Streaming
With the Notepad file open while running OBS Studio, you can go ahead and change text in the Notepad. When you save (Ctrl S) the text content on the live screen will update.
