Stocking Up For Christmas

Firstly – this is not a Christmas advert!

In the shop we mostly sell brand new systems and laptops, however we also offer refurbished laptops. The demand seems to be growing for refurbished laptops, particularly around the “back to school” times of the year and also on the run up to Christmas.

The recent “back to school” term almost cleared out our entire stock of refurb laptops. Now we are rebuilding that stock in plenty of time for the Christmas season.

So if you have a laptop that you no longer use, and would like to turn it into cash then I’ll explain how it works.

• Bring the computer with it’s power adapter in to the shop.

• We will log it in for the day to run some hardware tests to determine it’s accurate value.

• We will make you an offer for the computer.

• There is no obligation or fee for this valuation.

Please note: to comply with legislation we will ask you to provide valid ID as we are obliged to log and record all serial numbers of computers along with details of the owner.

With all refurbished computers, we run a full factory reset on the hard drive and digitally shred any information that is stored on the drive. This means that your data cannot be accessed again in future.
If you decide to sell your computer privately online, we recommend that you remove the hard drive and sell the computer without a hard drive unless you are familiar with digital shredding. Otherwise please be aware that even “deleted” pictures and information can be recovered using the right software.

If the computer has a Windows XP sticker on the bottom, unfortunately you’ve left it too late and the machine has no value. Windows Vista laptops are still valid but due to the Windows life cycle, the clock is ticking on these. Bring it in though and we will value the machine.

If your unwanted laptop has a Windows 7 (or later) license, we will be able to make you an offer for the machine. Don’t worry if the computer works or not.
