If you have an Apple device, whether it be an iPod, iPhone or iPad and use iTunes to transfer music, photos and data between your device and computer. You will be familiar with the headaches that comes with using iTunes software.
Here is an alternative: CopyTrans (download from this site link)
Perhaps you want to transfer music to your device that you didn’t purchase from Apple. Or maybe just drag and drop a few photos over.
With this piece of software you can simply drag and drop files back and forward, hit the “Update” button and that’s it.
If using iTunes it will go through the procedure of Sync / Update Check and Verify…. Basically copying 1 new album from your computer to your device can end up taking 30 minutes instead of the 30 seconds it should take. Not to mention the wrong files being copied or sent the wrong way and erasing your device! (if you are familiar with iTunes you will have your own nightmare scenario that you’ve had to figure out at some point)
In order for CopyTrans software to operate, you must have iTunes installed on your computer (just to run in the background for the purpose of drivers etc). But using CopyTrans software as an alternative, can be so much simpler, quicker and more user friendly.
Please note: If you are configuring a new device (iPod, iPhone, iPad) for the first time, run iTunes for the initial sync. This means if you ever get locked out of the device (wrong passcode etc), you can use your computer to unlock it.
Give it a try – if you don’t like it – uninstall it and return to using iTunes.
